Elaia, the agricultural platform of Atitlan, has taken a significant step in its internationalization strategy by acquiring a majority stake in Ecosac, a Peruvian company specializing in grape and canned pepper production. This transaction, completed through a capital increase amounting to approximately $100 million, marks Elaia’s first venture into the South American agricultural market, reinforcing its commitment to the development of superfoods in strategic regions.

Ecosac, based in the Piura region in northern Peru, boasts an annual business volume exceeding $200 million and exports over 500 million tons of grapes annually, positioning it as the country’s second-largest grape exporter. With 2,500 hectares currently under production and another 2,500 in reserve, the company has significant expansion potential, aligning with Elaia’s objective of becoming the leading grape producer in the region.

This strategic agreement will enable Elaia to diversify its crops, expanding its range of super fruits and super nuts like pistachios, while also ensuring year-round production and broadening its global customer base. Additionally, the transaction is expected to stabilize Ecosac’s financial standing and launch an ambitious investment plan to bring the 5,000 available hectares into production, further strengthening its presence in markets across Asia, the U.S., and Latin America.

For Elaia, this acquisition represents a key advancement in its vision to build a globally competitive agricultural platform focused on sustainability and innovation. “Our entry into Ecosac is not only our first operation in Latin America but also strengthens our growth strategy centered on superfoods, while we diversify our markets and maintain a strong focus on sustainable, high-quality production,” said an Elaia spokesperson.

With this acquisition, Elaia reaffirms its commitment to leading the agricultural sector in high-potential regions and continuing its expansion into strategic markets worldwide, solidifying its position as a reference in superfood production.
