Ramón Rivera, CEO of Elaia, participated as a speaker at the event ‘CBRE Trends in Agribusiness’

Last Thursday, CBRE España met at its 100,000 ha Agribusiness Madrid office for the ‘CBRE Trends in Agribusiness’ event, demonstrating the growth and potential of the sector in the Iberian Peninsula in the coming months. For the event, CBRE welcomed expert speakers such as Ramón Rivera Olalquiaga from Elaia, Pedro Foles from Bolschare, Joao Roseiro from SLM Partners, y Thomas Teixeira da Mota from CBRE Iberia.

The Iberian Peninsula is known internationally for the quality and diversity of its farm products. The sector boasts a strong exporting trend, with an emphasis on high-value products such as olive oil, wine, citrus fruits, fruits and vegetables. Iberia, with an annual export value of over €53 billion, is one of the major world and European powers in the agri-food sector; Spain is fourth in the ranking of exports in the European Union and seventh in the world. Meanwhile, investment in irrigation has led to significant growth in irrigated land of more than 500,000 hectares since 2009; it is expected that €29 billion will be invested in Spain in the future.

There is no doubt that this sector is booming.
